Hotel Moers Van Der Valk

The rooms are very clean and comfortable with high standard furnishing and fittings. Good choice of breakfast and pleasant a la carte restaurant.

We can recommend this hotel to anyone. We had access to free WiFi.

Very good value for money, comfortable, close to motorway links for easy getting about the area.

Not enought light in the room, so making up for a wedding was a challenge! Our room was in a block which backed onto another block, so very little natural light, and a poor level of electrical lighting. If I was staying there again, I would ask for a room not in that block.

Excellent quality hotel in tranquil setting. Well furnished, and equipped rooms.

Our room was facing the car park/main road which was noisy because warm weather required opening the window. I.E. no air conditioning system is noticeable when the weather gets warm.

Close to the autobahn and easy to park outside the hotel. The room is modern and clean and the bed is huge. Breakfast buffet contains all you need.

There is no free wi-fi at the hotel, something many hotels at this standard usually offer. You have to pay for every hour.

Unboxing my experience

The room was very spacious, with a cozy design and excellent modern amenities. Breakfast was a feast for the senses, complete with fresh honeycomb! Its prime location made it easy to navigate nearby freeways. A bonus for Tesla drivers, they have supercharger stations available. I'd gladly return!

Rooms are refurbished

Restaurant is not in line with the rest of the hotel. Meals are from a truckers restaurant level.

Located close to A2 motorway. This place has it's own style. Room was nicely decorated and furnished, quite specious as well. The lack of free wifi is a great disadvantage as this should be provided for free in every hotel these days. Otherwise it is a nice place to stay for a night and really cosy.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and diverse.

I was quite disappointed with my stay. Our room was supposed to have a balcony, but it turned out to be just two chairs outside with no view. The room felt tired and dated, and the noise from the corridor kept us awake at 2:00 AM. When I reported it, the management claimed they handled the issue satisfactorily, but I felt otherwise.

Room was huge and well-equipped, the place itself was pleasant. The staff were extremely friendly and location was particularly good and fantastic. What's more, it was adjacent to town centre through green areas.

We were not offered the choice of a non-smoking room (neither did we ask) and the room we had, though nice, had a faint but discernable smokey odour

The breakfast was amazing! They had this live cooking station for omelets that just blew my mind. The hotel had a Nespresso machine in the room, a nice touch you don't expect everywhere.

Renovated hotel. Stylish and warm atmosphere. Due to X-Mas there are candles, fresh flower arrangments everywhere. The bedroom and bathroom are very comfortable. Much better than in the past. Good and comfortable beds (box spring). Enough pillows. Bathroom is clean, enough space (bathtub + separate shower) Breakfast buffet: enough choice, freshness Dinner: a la carte: enough choice. The staff is very friendly and pays good attention, also if you are travelling alone. You can park your car in front of the hotel. The hotel is located near the high way. In a few minutes you are in city center of Moers, Duisburg.

Only recommendation would be the coffee served (maybe use of other coffee beans ?) at the breakfast buffet. I prefer coffee to be a bit stronger, especially when you drink it with milk and sugar. However, that is a personal taste and the coffee in Germany tends to be "watery" in general.

The friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home with our dog. Excellent buffet dinner which the staff organised for us to eat in the lounge by the fireside together with our dog. They even provided water for him!
